BS 1129 Biblical Hebrew – Robert Kramish
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (6 Weeks)
This is a six-week intensive course in which students will work through an entire first-year Hebrew grammar book, preparing them to enter an Intermediate Hebrew class upon completion of the course. By the end of the course acquire a command of the basic principles of Hebrew phonology, morphology and syntax. Students will be able to translate the text of the Hebrew Bible with the aid of lexicons and other grammatical resources. Course will meet Monday through Friday for 3 hours each day.

BSRS 2333 Queering the Use of the Bible – Timothy Koch (CSR course)

This course will focus on connecting LGBT sensibilities directly to biblical texts, constructing matrices of meaning that speak to our individual and shared concerns. A broadly interdisciplinary approach will be employed and warmly welcomed (including cultural analysis, fairy tell, biblical stories, and personal/communal experience), in working toward a paradigm for the use of scriptural texts that is authentically liberative for queer folks whether in or out of the academy, in or out of organized religion. Lectures, class discussion, journaling and final paper/project.
